 Buyer considerations when selecting a property inspection company
(because not all companies are alike) 
 

N-SPECT inspectors are fully licensed in Connecticut.  Some inspectors in other companies are interns.

N-SPECT maintains Errors and Ommissions insurance.  Other companies may have Errors and Ommissions insurance, but it is not required.

N-SPECT maintains General Liability Insurance.  Other companies may have General Liability insurance, but it is not required.

N-SPECT is bonded. Other companies may be bonded, but bonding is not required.

N-SPECT maintains radon insurance.  Other companies may have radon insurance, but it is not required.

N-SPECT maintains an NRSB certification for Radon Mesurement. Other companies may be certified, but certification is not required.

N-SPECT uses tamper resistant, electronic continuous radon monitoring (CRM) with immediate results at test completion.  Other companies may use this technology, but it is not required and some tests take 10 to 14 days for results to be reported. 

N-SPECT uses the latest inspection technology including moisture meters, gas detectors and infrared thermometers, among other technology. Other companies may use this technology, but it is not required. 

N-SPECT offers same day report delivery via e-mail.  This service is not required and some companies mail reports in a week or more.

N-SPECT offers Wood Destroying Insect inspections by a licensed, insured inspector.  Some companies may offer this service, but it is not required.

N-SPECT offers online requests for contact or a quote.  Other companies may offer this service, but it is not required.

N-SPECT offers a web site with important information and links for buyers and sellers.  Other companies may offer this service, but it is not required.

N-SPECT offers water testing including potability, bacteriological exams, chemical / physical analysis, lead in water, uranium in water, radon in water, pesticide testing in water and volatile organic compounds (VOC) in water and more.  Other companies may offer this service but it is not required and often a third party must be contacted.
